Holy freaking crap what a BEAUTIFUL weekend! We had the BEST weather I’ve seen in a very long time. For the first time this year we had the windows all open, walked around in shorts, did yard work, and just basked in the glory of EXCELLENT weather. WOW… Feeling super energized and grateful! I hope you all got to enjoy the weekend!
Work
- Last week at work I was in patch hell. I’ve never had so many patches to apply and in fact, I had so many I couldn’t complete it during the week and I’m continuing to do patches from last week even this morning.
- On the positive side this apparently has led to me swapping some duties in my job and giving me something a little more enjoyable to do that can be accomplished more quickly.
- The Sequim trip has been approved and I’ll be heading to Sequim some time early in May. Once again, I’m looking forward to trying to get more things back on track and get some work routines going.
Home
- Friday Rhonda and I got our new saltwater aquarium tank delivered and Rhonda slaved for two straight days putting the stand together by herself. The tank itself is so heavy it was delivered on a pallet and Rhonda and I had to move it just a few feet at a time, balancing the weight on a bar stool/high chairs and basically crab walk it into the house from the pallet it was delivered on. This is one solid tank!
- On the negative side, we may have burned out one of the powerheads already by running it when sand in the water still. Yikes! There is going to be a lot to learn in this hobby.
- In addition to the new saltwater fish hobby, Rhonda has gotten herself into selling nails by ColorStreet. She’s set herself up a store and group page on Facebook based on two of her favorite things, Mermaid Tails and Pretty Nails (https://www.facebook.com/groups/3763287507052854).
- Closing arguments in the Chauvin trial are happening today and the jury should start deliberating this afternoon. My prediction is that Chauvin will get Murder 3 and manslaughter for a maximum of 35 years. I’m actually a little worried about being in downtown Seattle if the verdict comes back not guilty or far too lenient. Honestly I don’t think that’s possible but then again, I thought OJ Simpson was hands down going to be convicted after watching that trial and was stunned at the verdict so it wouldn’t be the first time I’ve watched a trial and though I knew how it was going to go.
- The news was really interesting to me this week. Once again, new video of aerial phenomenon that defy known laws of physics is released by the U.S. government and once again the media barely covered it and STILL laughed at it like it was just a big joke. One media rep puts it plainly when she says, “I still want to believe this isn’t real”. All of this rejection of taking it serious despite the statement in this video that the videos released to the public thus far by our government are the LEAST compelling of videos the government has. It baffles my mind that people still laugh at this stuff like it’s some big joke even when it’s being declassified and legitimized by the the government. No one has to believe these are little green “aliens”, but why dismiss the facts? Why are so many people afraid to admit that it’s a real problem if someone has technology that defies our known laws of physics? How can we protect our airspace if someone has technology in your airspace so advanced we don’t even know how they do that? https://youtu.be/SKsLK_Na7iw
- On slightly less weightier news, Rhonda and I have binged watched Season 7 of TLC’s “90 Day Fiancee”. A friend of ours recommended it as a real “train wreck” that’s hard to look away from. While Rhonda and I both seem to really hate the editing and teasers the production crew uses to mislead us and build tension, the show is still much like our friend said, “a train wreck that’s hard to look away from”.
Spiritual or Philosophical
- Meditation has been very interesting this week as I get back into a routine. I have found that I consistently achieve a sensation of the floor rumbling under my feet during my meditation. I’ve tried just sitting in the same spot without doing meditation to see if I feel the earth rumble and I do not. I’m not sure what to make of this. It is super interesting to me but as yet, not sure if it’s beneficial to anything. It’s just “odd”.
- I have also been trying to make a habit of daily tarot and finding very strange synchronicities that lead me down odd research paths where I learn more about energy and the universe. If nothing else, I find the cards give my mind room to wander and explore new ideas and helps me continue to expand my mind.
- I have been reflecting this week on the power of words and the limitations they put on growth. I recall a lot of limiting beliefs I learned growing up Christian for example. The church (as well as my family and friends), gave me the word “God” and a definition of what “God” is and isn’t. For DECADES that definition and understanding of God completely closed me off to any other explanation or growth potential. Ghosts did not exist because “God” tells us that there is no life after death therefore if someone sees a ghost it cannot be what they are REALLY seeing despite how many millions of people have claimed to have seen them. I must now reject millions of accounts of testimony because it doesn’t fit with my limited beliefs. It must therefore be a trick of the devil in order to make them believe in life after death. Tarot cards, likewise, are tools of the devil because “God” does not work this way. If something truly significant is happening in the cards then again, the devil is playing tricks on you and thus they are “evil” and should NEVER be in your house. If you have them in your house, you are inviting the devil into you home, and so on. Even recently a friend laughed at the notion that belief in alien life and belief and God are the same thing. “God is not an alien. That’s just stupid!” was basically the sentiment. Why? By definition if God is not from earth than God is “alien” to our planet. But because people have been told aliens aren’t real and “God” is, we can’t reconcile the two. It’s the same with the recently declassified videos of objects flying in our skies for which we have no clue what it is. This of course can’t be a UFO (which quite literally means an unidentified flying object) because we believe UFO’s are flown by little green men and since we know that’s ridiculous, we can’t reconcile the two. The fear of ridicule over believing in UFO’s is so strong the the government has been forced to call them UAP’s (unidentified aerial phenomenon). There’s no need for a new word to explain it. UFO would suffice. The only explanation is that the word UFO has so limited human thinking that we cannot use the word without bringing up images of little green men and therefore immediately reject it. In order for the public to take the issue serious, the government has to invent a new term that doesn’t come with all the UFO baggage. And even then, many laugh and don’t take it serious. My gosh, the power of words!
